CHIPX, a next-generation semiconductor and photonics manufacturer, announced plans to establish an 8-inch wafer fabrication facility in Malaysia—the first of its kind in the ASEAN region. Leveraging Malaysia's emerging silicon-photonics ecosystem, the fab will support production of transceivers and receivers for ultra-high-speed connectivity in AI data centers. The venture involves strategic international investors and Taiwanese semiconductor partners, aligning with Malaysia's National Semiconductor Strategy, NIMP 2030, and National Energy Transition Roadmap.
