In late 2025, manufacturers of specialized machinery were increasingly turning to robotic automation to address labor shortages and improve production throughput. Stadler Anlagenbau, a maker of recycling and waste sorting systems, had already used Panasonic G3 welding robots but sought to further reduce cycle times and enhance flexibility.

Panasonic Factory Solutions implemented its Tawers G4 Welding Robot System at Stadler Anlagenbau, automating manual welding processes. The G4 integrates welding process management into a single controller, offering higher axis speeds, improved controller processing power, and optimized controller-robot communication. It supports MIG/MAG, Puls-MAG, and CO2 processes, with a high-resolution touchscreen and enhanced contact tips for better quality and reliability.
Stadler conducted extensive simulations and test welds at Panasonic's Robot & Welding Test Centre in Neuss, with specialist training for employees. According to Bruno Stützle, head of production, cycle and throughput time for some products, including preparation, was reduced to one-third of the original time. The G4 has shown faultless reliability since installation, aside from scheduled maintenance.
Stadler also uses Panasonic's offline Desktop Programming & Simulation (DTPS) software for virtual production planning, allowing remote access to real-time data and simulation of manufacturing processes. DTPS can directly input CAD data in multiple formats, with features like collision detection, cycle time calculation, and welding parameter optimization.
