Rocla AGV Solutions expanded its automated reach truck line with the ARTsmf, a shorter version designed for aisles with free space as narrow as 2.85 metres. This new model retains the high lifting and heavy load capabilities of the original ART, which handles loads up to 1600 kg and lifts to 10 metres, but in a more compact frame.

The original ART models (ARTmf and ARTnf) operate in 3-metre aisles, while the ARTsmf reduces that requirement by 15 centimetres, enabling automation in tighter spaces. The company emphasized that no rack modifications are needed, a key advantage for existing warehouses with narrow layouts.

Rocla also highlighted its Fleet Controller suite, which integrates with warehouse management systems (WMS) to optimize task allocation between AGVs and manual forklifts. The system includes an Order Optimizer that schedules tasks based on deadlines and can dynamically assign work to available resources.

Safety features include compliance with ISO 3691-4, safety scanners, and a dynamic stability control system. The optional Proximity Detection System (PDS) allows AGVs, forklifts, and tagged personnel to detect each other without line of sight, slowing or stopping operations when necessary.
