The network will connect Labor Berlin's central laboratory to affiliated hospitals, including Charité and Vivantes, for ultra-fast transport of critical lab samples. Labor Berlin, Europe's largest hospital laboratory, handles over 6 million samples annually and serves more than 24,000 beds.
Operations are expected to begin formally early next year after federal state clearance. The service targets emergency diagnostics, aiming to improve efficiency and reduce carbon emissions from the nearly 250,000 miles driven daily in the city.
