SVT Robotics unveils SoftBot Platform Connector for Tecsys WMS, enabling faster, code-free automation deployments.

In context

In April 2023, warehouse automation was rapidly evolving, with manufacturers and logistics providers seeking to integrate robotics from multiple vendors. However, custom code development for system integration remained a major bottleneck, slowing deployments and increasing complexity. This partnership addressed that challenge directly.

What was reported

SVT Robotics, a provider of enterprise software for rapid industrial robotics deployment, announced a new SoftBot Platform Connector for Tecsys, a supply chain management software company. The two firms collaborated to develop a pre-built integration between Tecsys’s WMS and SVT’s SoftBot Platform.

The connector aims to give Tecsys Elite customers faster deployment and lower complexity by eliminating the need for custom code in multi-system automation and robotics projects. SVT’s Nick Leonard described the connector as a “Rosetta Stone” for data between systems, normalizing data from Tecsys’s standard API to enable interoperability with other leading solutions.

Tecsys’s Bill Denbigh called the collaboration a “gamechanger,” noting that orchestrating automation across multiple vendors can become unsupportable as the market grows. The partnership allows Tecsys to offer a hardware-agnostic solution, letting customers choose automation that best fits their warehouse challenges rather than being locked into a preferred partner.

Why it mattered

This integration signaled a shift toward standardized, plug-and-play connectivity in warehouse automation. By reducing reliance on custom code, such connectors lower the barrier to adopting robotics, enabling faster ROI and more flexible automation ecosystems—a trend that continues to shape industrial integration strategies.

“With a growing and evolving automation market, orchestrating warehouse automation across multiple automation vendors has the potential to quickly become unsupportable.”
